The paintings in this studio release date between 2019-2024. Most works were created in the last 6 months. After leaving my studio in Berlin in 2022 and moving back to my home state of New Jersey in 2023, I remember it feeling like it was an ‘eye of the storm’ kind of time while gearing up for a big change. I knew the change would result in a new wave of my work after focusing predominantly on portraits in 2022. I continued on themes of returning to the ocean and painting outdoors, observing from life. I moved between gouache on paper and oil on wood, while also building teak frames.

Information on medium, exact dimensions, and price are listed below each image. Please note that the painting sizes are not relative to each other as seen in the gallery grid above, refer to the exact dimensions as paintings may appear larger or smaller.

INTO THE INFINITE

Paintings are either mounted on wood or include a custom teak frame. Frames are built by the artist.

Cory Blair a painter, sees the world in infinite detail. Blair can’t go anywhere without slowing down to observe things, fascinated with the intricacies in nature, focusing on sunsets, seascapes, and landscapes.
Blair’s practice involves editing all of the information in the field and reducing the noise. When painting, Blair thrives in the delicate balance of spontaneity and meticulous design, bridging chaos and order.
Specializing in transforming spaces—whether commercial lobbies or private homes—Blair creates original paintings that evoke emotion through color and composition, formed by years of studying nature.
